My Brothers and sisters  in Christ!

I know you are going through a situation in your life right now that is requiring you trust in the Lord to work on your behalf. I want to assure you that God has your best in mind, yet obedience is such an important aspect of anything we do for the Lord, and the way we live on a day to day basis.

It is often so tempting to trust in our own abilities, talents, and gifts that have propelled our lives to where we are today.  Yet, we must also know there are times all we are able to do is simply trust God for the outcome and give up control to Him.

There is a portion of scripture I want to share with you that may seem a bit odd in this day and age we live, yet to Moses, this was very real, and an indication of how God was going to use him powerfully in the future “if” he handled the situation correctly.

Exodus 4:2-4 (NIV) 2 Then the Lord said to him, “What is that in your hand?”  “A staff,” he replied.   3 The Lord said, “Throw it on the ground.”  Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it.  4 Then the Lord said to him, “Reach out your hand and take it by the tail.” So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand.

Moses had to obey God to throw the rod down, but he also had to obey God to pick it back up even when it looked like something that could harm him, or at least not be good for him!

We must learn that whatever we give up for the obedience and glory of God has tremendous potential to be turned into a miracle that will not only bring freedom and deliverance to us, but to others as well.

As Moses threw down the rod, it was almost like a throwing down of his past efforts, abilities, and works.  Then, God began to work miracles, and in the picking of it back up, God was preparing Moses to see powerful miracles as now HE was the one in control!

While it may seem very challenging, I want to encourage you today to simply trust God for your future, and act in obedience to what He is prompting in your heart.

Be Blessed in Christ,
